James is a dedicated educator with ten years international teaching experience, committed to fostering physical well-being and a lifelong appreciation for sports among young learners. With a rich tapestry of experience in both education and sports, his extensive background equips him to create an all-encompassing and enjoyable learning environment for BSG’s amazing students! Central to James's teaching philosophy is the belief that physical education should be rooted in enjoyment and inclusivity. He firmly holds that finding pleasure in movement is pivotal to adopting active lifestyles and understanding the significance of fitness. Through fostering an inclusive environment, he ensures every student, irrespective of their capabilities, feels empowered to participate.

As the Head of Primary Physical Education, James takes the lead in promoting a holistic approach to physical well-being within the school community. Collaborations with colleagues, parents, and community members result in events, fixtures, and initiatives that encourage healthy lifestyles beyond the classroom. James Mitchell also holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from the esteemed University of Manchester, solidifying his expertise in effective teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and educational administration.

With a robust decade of international teaching experience, James brings a wealth of knowledge to his role. His proficiency spans various domains, particularly but not limited to rugby, triathlon, ultramarathon running, swimming, cycling, weightlifting, skiing, and snowboarding. This multifaceted skill set enables him to deliver impactful instruction while inspiring students to explore new horizons.Within James's classroom, and those of his team, paramount importance is placed on engagement through innovative lesson plans. Activities are tailored to cater to individual skill levels and interests, ensuring no student is left behind. The infusion of creative skills-based games and cooperative challenges creates a blend of enjoyment and learning, nurturing teamwork and problem-solving abilities.

James's personal life intertwines with his professional journey. He is happily married to fellow BSG PE teacher, Faith. Beyond his professional commitments, James dedicates significant time to triathlon training. He thrives on the challenges and rewards of triathlon events, using his training experiences to enrich his teaching approach. James and Faith are both very social, regularly enjoying time with friends outside of BSG, often eating PIZZA! James is also a keen musician and enjoys playing guitar, piano, and drums (with varying degrees of expertise!) outside of school.James's ultimate goal is to inspire a generation of students who embrace physical activity and possess the confidence and skills to pursue a diverse array of sports and activities throughout their lives. His dedication to nurturing a passion for physical activity and creating an environment where each student can thrive remains unwavering.
