Having completed his bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and his PGCE in the UK, Simon has more than 20 years’ experience in education, both in the UK and internationally. He joins us from King’s College in Bangkok to take up the role of Assistant Head in Secondary.
Having taught in selective and comprehensive school in the UK for 9 years, Simon and his wife, Rachel, made the bold decision to move their young family to South Korea, to join North London Collegiate School, Jeju. There Simon fulfilled several pastoral middle leadership roles, before being promoted to Assistant Vice Principal and Head of Sixth Form. After 10 wonderful years in Jeju and in search of an exciting new challenge, Simon accepted the position of Head of Senior School at St George’s College in Buenos Aires, Argentina, before spending the past 2 years in Thailand.
Simon has an unwavering belief in the vital importance of pastoral care and in the concept of ‘finding a way’ for all students to feel valued as individuals and to experience a genuine sense of achievement.
Simon is joined in Guangzhou by Rachel and their 3 children, Raya, Ethan and Kellan, who are now attending BSG. The Cox family love to travel and are very much looking forward to exploring all that China has to offer.
