Teneal Potts

Pre-Nursery Teacher
Teneal-Lauren-Potts

Originally from South Africa, Teneal is an experienced educator with over seven years of teaching experience across Early Years and Primary. Passionate about supporting young children during the most formative years of their education, she is delighted to be returning to The British School of Guangzhou as a Pre-Nursery teacher after previously spending four years as part of the BSG community.

Teneal holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rhodes University and an International Postgraduate Certificate in Education (iPGCE) from the University of East London. Throughout her teaching career, she has developed a child-centred approach that prioritises strong relationships, curiosity and a genuine love of learning. She believes children thrive when they feel safe, valued and inspired to explore the world around them through hands-on, purposeful learning experiences.

With a particular interest in early literacy and numeracy, Teneal enjoys creating engaging learning opportunities that foster confidence, independence and a strong foundation for lifelong learning. She values building meaningful partnerships with families and believes that working together plays an important role in every child's growth and success.

Outside the classroom, Teneal loves travelling, experiencing new cultures and spending time on or near the water enjoying a variety of water sports. She is excited to be back at BSG and looks forward to nurturing each child's confidence, curiosity and joy of learning.
