Last Thursday, 20th April 2023, saw one of our termly fire drills, this time with the fire department arriving to showcase their fire safety abilities and their rescue equipment.
These drills are very important to make sure that everyone knows what they need to do in the unlikely event of a real fire, and this was one of the schools’ best performances yet. All students and staff were quickly evacuated and safely acounted for within the target time period. The students were excellent in their behaviour and attitude, and were treated to the fire department using the ladder from the fire truck and a hose to put out a pretend fire on the roof. It was great for our students to see!
After the drill was complete, the firemen were kind enough to talk to the EYFS students and show them the fire truck, which was very exciting for them.
In order to ensure that teachers and school leaders develop and refine their skills and personal pedagogy, events that focus upon bringing teachers and leaders together are organised on a regular basis.
Rather than recommend a specific time in which these decisions need to be made, we suggest instead that all of our parents keep in mind three key milestones in the secondary school calendar and how decisions at each of these stages help to open up potential future pathways and opportunities.
