

Twelve Secondary students from the British Vietnamese International School (BVIS) Ho Chi Minh City have been awarded Outstanding Learner Awards by Cambridge and Pearson, based on their results in the international examinations for the 2024–2025 academic year. This impressive achievement continues to affirm BVIS’s exceptional educational quality within Vietnam’s international school system.
This year, BVIS proudly celebrates three students who earned the prestigious “Top in the World” title – the highest global score in individual subjects:
Tuong Thuy – Cambridge IGCSE™ in English as a Second Language (count-in Speaking)
Hoang Quyen – Cambridge International AS Level in Media Studies
Kim Mai – Pearson Edexcel International GCSE in Mathematics A
These outstanding results highlight BVIS’s leading academic position among international schools in Vietnam.
Many BVIS students also achieved “Highest in Vietnam” and “High Achievement” awards in key subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Business, Psychology, English Literature, and Design & Technology. Notably, Huỳnh Triệu Hoàng Jimmy, Year 13, impressed by earning “Highest in Vietnam” in all three sciences: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

In recent years, BVIS students’ IGCSE and A Level results have consistently exceeded UK averages.
- 62% of BVIS IGCSE grades were A*-A, compared to the UK average of 21.8%.
- 42% of BVIS A Level grades were A*-A, compared to the UK average of 28.2%.

Thanks to these impressive academic results, BVIS graduates continue to shine in the 2025 university admissions season, with over 30% accepted into Top 50 Global Universities, including UC Berkeley, Boston University, Imperial College London, Australian National University, and the University of Toronto etc BVIS students received over 305 offers and a total scholarship value of USD 6.67 million.
With her consecutive “Highest in Vietnam” A Level Media Studies awards, Lâm Ngân Nhi stood out by gaining admission to seven University of California campuses, securing scholarships worth USD 444,000 (VND 11.1 billion). She shared: “The challenging A Level programme at BVIS helped me grow every day. I’m deeply grateful to my family and teachers for inspiring me to confidently pursue my dream of becoming a filmmaker.”
Having studied at BVIS since Year 4, Kim Mai, a Year 12 student who achieved the title of Highest Mark in the World for IGCSE Mathematics A, shared, “For Math, I learned how to break down goals into smaller parts to practice every day and check mistakes to avoid repeating them. My teachers at school explain lessons very clearly, helping me grasp knowledge in a clear and confident way. Whenever I face difficulties, I always find support from my teachers and actively participate in the competitions organised by the school to improve my skills and knowledge in this subject.”
