I would like to thank everyone for the support they have given our school, and to me personally, throughout this time. I joined BSG in August 2008 when we had just 175 students from Early Years through to Year 7, and I can honestly say that despite the challenges, I have enjoyed every single day.
Our school has developed beyond recognition since those early days, and is now considered by many to be the premier international school in the city, known for its outstanding academic results and welcoming community. This development is down to the hard work of a very large, very committed team, and I want to take this opportunity to thank teachers, administrative staff, parents and students for helping us to create such an amazing school.
This has not been an easy decision to make, but knowing that we have such a strong leadership team in place reassures me that our school will continue to be successful in the future, and will continue to promote the ‘love of learning’ that has made us so unique.
I will look forward to saying my goodbyes in person in Term 3, but for now I remain committed to ensuring the successful opening of our sister school in Maogang, and will continue to work closely with my Senior Leadership Team to ensure the future success of our school. Indeed, I cannot think of a better way to end my time at BSG than by ensuring that our founding families quickly settle into the new campus and receive the outstanding education that has made us such a success.
Nord Anglia have now begun a global search to find my successor, and we will be looking for a group of parent volunteers to take part in the interview process. More information will follow for anyone interested.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival and that you stay safe and healthy.
