Nursery Teacher

BA (hons), PGCE

After completing my degree at the University of Central Florida, I moved to Portland, Oregon to pursue teaching. I taught in Oregon for four years in Year 1 and Year 4, as well as Head of Year for Year 4. I enjoyed teaching in the public school system, but eventually wanted to teach overseas. This brought me to Guangzhou where I have taught Year 1 for the past four years and have recently moved to The British School of Guangzhou. I am looking forward to being a part of the Early Years Team as a Nursery Teacher.

I have been living in Guangzhou with my husband for the past four years and we’ve recently had our first child. She’s 11 months old and enjoys playing with our two dogs at home. We love traveling with our daughter and taking her on new adventures. During our time off, we enjoy taking our dogs to different parks and hiking through the greenery that Guangzhou has to offer. My husband and I are foodies and love trying new restaurants and different cuisines. We have enjoyed learning the different food around China and our favourite dishes are from Hunan.

I have always had a passion in teaching and learn a great deal from my students and peers every day. I am excited to be a part of the BSG team and watch my students grow from Nursery onwards.
