Guangzhou is where I was born and where I live, and I love this city. I majored in International Trading Business and my first job was working for a business consultancy company. Whilst working there, I met a French-Canadian family and together we started a small-scale preschool in our neighbourhood. My roles were varied and included marketing, enrolment and teaching. This started my love of working in education, particularly in Early Years and my next role was in an international preschool in the centre of Guangzhou for two and a half years.
I joined the British School of Guangzhou in 2019 and supported students from Y4, Y5 and Y6 in the classroom. I love the diversity of both the school community and teaching practices, and I appreciate the opportunities for staff within Nord Anglia. This academic year, with the thought of enriching my experiences in education and supporting children in their life and study, I am joining the Learning Support team. I am looking forward to my new role and further developing my teaching skills by providing services and activities, including delivering targeted small group sessions, to enhance and enable the teaching capacity of the BSG Education community.
Out of school, I love being outdoors with a bit of adventure. I love exploring new things, new places and meeting new people. On the weekends, you will find me practising yoga or reading in a coffee shop or cycling on a lovely sunny day.
