Balance at every stage of their academic journey:
Starting at Preschool, we offer classes in a choice of French or English and the bilingual programme begins in the older preschool classes. Parents can choose whether their child will learn to read in French or English. In early Preschool sections, education is mostly through play, however throughout the whole of the Preschool years, we ensure each child’s unique abilities are nurtured and social skills are gently introduced.
The International Primary Curriculum balances fun and innovative ways of learning with a structured programme that develops character, confidence and an international perspective. Varied, fun and adapted to current interests, our specialist teachers open doors to the world of music, sport, computing and more. Diverse extracurricular activities at this stage include language classes in children’s mother tongue, art and crafts, mindfulness and yoga. We also continue our bilingual programme, providing your child with an invaluable head-start in languages.
In our Middle School, we focus on giving students the space and freedom to develop their interests. With both academic and emotional support, we encourage them to choose a learning programme that reflects their uniqueness alongside extracurricular activities that suit their individuality outside of the classroom. Students at this stage will be strongly encouraged to explore their creative talents, with classes in art, music and dance. Their potential will be enhanced even further by our partnership with the legendary Juilliard School in New York.
Following the International Middle Years Curriculum that gives students an exceptional academic grounding, we teach them importance of reflection, tolerance and understanding. Our strong and diverse curriculum allows students to later challenge themselves with qualifications such as the iGCSE and American Advanced Placement courses. As well as a truly bilingual education, with classes split between French and English, they can also begin learning an additional language from Grade 6.
In High School, our international programmes prepare students for the best possible universities around the world. We offer a broad range of curricula such that each child can develop the academic, social and emotional skills that will enable them to reach their full potential.
Our commitment to providing a personalised education continues at High School level, where students are offered a unique breadth of academic options, both in terms of curricula and courses, as well as character forming programmes and activities that teach them to be self-assured and able to recognise the positive impact they can make on the world.
Our academic offer includes the IGCSE programme, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, a High School Diploma programme and Advanced Placement. Collège du Léman also offers the IBCP, specifically developed for students who wish to engage in career-related learning.
Balance at this age is as important as ever to gain perspective and find enjoyment outside of intense studies. In this vein, we expect High School students to participate in extracurricular activities. An extensive range of opportunities is available to them at Collège du Léman, including individual and team sports, activities that promote teamwork, higher order thinking, communication skills and creativity. Students may also participate in overseas trips that give them perspective on cooperation, responsibility and how to truly make a difference.
