Pre-University Summer Programme

For 16-18 years old

Pre-University Summer Programme is an immersive and dynamic course for driven and innovative students preparing for their future university careers.

Pre-University is a comprehensive academic and activity programme. Students will spend time learning foundational knowledge and building strong critical thinking skills as well as spend time outdoors on campus or on Lake Geneva and areas.

Organised in partnership with Bucksmore Education, the programme guides students to engage in academic and theoretical lessons within three streams:

  • Business & Finance
  • International Relations & Law
  • Medicine

Dates

This programme will run over 2 weeks, from July 17th to July 30th, 2022.

Howerer, it is also possible to take part for one week only.

An English level equivalent to B1 minimum is required to take part to this programme.

We offer 2 different options:

  • Boarding: students are on campus from Sunday, 17th July to Saturday, 30th July
  • Day: students are on campus from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm

  • Learn basics of stocks, bonds, investment, economic policy
  • Develop entrepreneurial skills and knowledge
  • Engage in case studies learning in relevant issues, such as cryptocurrency, the role of the finance sector in public policy, and inflation
  • Build networks and prepare for future university applications

PU_Medicine

  • Engage in hands-on teaching and insight into a variety of medical careers
  • Learning-in-action trips to local hospitals and clinics
  • Specific medical examination preparation (UCAT, BMAT, etc.)
  • Medical school application development workshops

International Relations & Law
  • Interdisciplinary study in international relations, law, diplomacy, and governance
  • Engaging debates of diverse historical and philosophical foundations of contemporary nation-states
  • Prepare university application statements
  • MUN-style debate on contemporary issues

 

PU_Groups
Group projects

Group Projects are a key element of academic and personal development during the programme. Each academic stream will have a shared dilemma that they will investigate, research, and present their findings based on their subjects. Group projects will challenge students not just academically, but also personally to foster teamwork, leadership, and critical thinking skills.
