The 1er Cycle is an exciting stage between Primary school and the 2nd cycle, where the child becomes an adolescent. In an open and caring international atmosphere, we combine academic success with the personal development of each student to become an accomplished global citizen.

The 1er Cycle focuses on building a solid academic foundation in core subjects. A bilingual French-English program as well as multicultural contacts promote language learning and open-mindedness. A variety of cultural options guarantee a multifaceted education.

Academic success and innovative teaching practices 


Our priority is that each student receives an international education of excellent quality that will enable him or her to go on to the best universities in the world.

To achieve this, we use a PLP (Personal Learning Plan) that allows each student to set specific goals for success and identify their strengths and challenges. We implement a real methodological approach to teach students a real know-how.

Also, students with difficulties benefit from special pedagogical follow-up and personal assistance through learning support. Support is also offered during class hours and during extracurricular activities.

The individual development of the student


We encourage students to develop their artistic and creative talents through our visual arts program and various activities (dance, drama, music).

The Music Department is very active and each student learns to sing and play a musical instrument and performs in concerts at the end of the year.

Physical fitness and team spirit are emphasized in our Physical Education classes and in a varied program of extracurricular activities. Numerous local and international tournaments allow Collège du Léman to develop its growing reputation in various sports.

In order for each student to develop as an individual, we teach them how to gain self-confidence and be more responsible. They also have the opportunity to exercise their leadership skills by participating in various activities such as the Student Council, the 'House System' or the Degree Assemblies, where Anglophones and Francophones come together and showcase their talents.

A modern and effective language policy in an international school 


From the beginning of the 6th grade, students study two languages: English and a second language of their choice (German, Italian, Spanish, Mandarin).

Language teaching at Collège du Léman corresponds to the levels described in the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Also, a special mother tongue program (for national languages) is offered within the daily schedule and the possibility to study another language is offered in our extracurricular program.

The proposed bilingual program (French-English) allows students to benefit from both pedagogical approaches and to follow science and history-geography classes in English.
