Middle School is an exciting transition from Primary School to High School, from child to adolescent.
In a safe, happy and purposeful atmosphere, we encourage, monitor and support both the academic and the personal growth of every one of our students.
Dr Betsy Harvey started her career as an English teacher and Boarding House Parent at Hebron Academy in Maine (US); she then taught Rhetoric at the University of Iowa while earning her PhD in American Studies. She started at Collège du Léman in 2010 as an English teacher and Grade 6 Homeroom Advisor. She has served as a Geography teacher and the Middle School Deputy Principal for the last 8 years.
In her time in Middle School, she has thrived in a variety of leadership responsibilities. In addition to inspiring her students with thought-provoking lessons, she has been instrumental in implementing the House System (team-building activities and opportunities to recognise student engagement) and developing the 50/50 bilingual programme. More recently, she has been a key pillar of the task force redefining the school's Vision and Mission and co-led the organisation of our first-ever CDL Day with amazing passion and a remarkable collaborative approach across the school, fostering a community spirit not felt for years.
Dr Betsy Harvey was appointed as Middle School Secondaire Principal in August 2022 and is looking forward to continuing the strong leadership within Middle School Secondaire: "I am convinced that it is through the teamwork of students, teachers, and parents that our students develop as individuals and learners."
