This is a nice collection of stories for children available for free reading online without registration. Most are short stories, with some longer ones. There are numerous stories ranging from animal adventures and fairy tales to educational and Christmas stories. Children, parents and teachers can travel to distant places and let imaginations run wild. The stories are ranked and assigned a rating of 1 (worst) – 5 (best).

The British Council has a very nice collection of flash animated song and audio read-a-long stories. In this section you will find lots of animated songs, stories, cartoons and videos. You can play the vocabulary games before you watch, then download an activity as well. You can also practise your speaking with their fun tongue twisters. They have also posted the stories on YouTube.
