I hope that you had an excellent Vietnam National Day holiday. I had the great fortune of being in District 1 on Wednesday evening and saw first hand the enormous importance and serious celebrations attributed to this very special day. It was truly spectacular and fantastic to see so many families out on this important occasion for your country.
It is always interesting starting the term with odd days and the teachers and students have coped admirably and have made an excellent start. Already we have witnessed the huge potential that our students have and are extremely optimistic about their successes this year.
May I take this opportunity to thank all those existing parents who took the trouble to complete our parent satisfaction survey last term. I am delighted to announce that the overall satisfaction levels here at BVIS were very good and in many aspects of the school the satisfaction of parents was over 90%. As a relatively new school there are still things to improve and work on but I am delighted to see that the main areas of very good satisfaction relate to learning and achievement of students. Please click on the link below for a summary of the report.
Parent Satisfaction Survey Summary 2015
In our drive to improve the environmental awareness at BVIS we have secured the services of Dr Rebecca Lee. Dr Lee is a full time explorer, writer and environmentalist based in Hong Kong. She has written over 10 books, published educational material and has visited the Arctic, Antarctica and Mount Everest on many occasions. We are delighted that Dr Lee has agreed to come and work with BVIS here in HCMC and help educate and inspire the children and the school community. Dr Lee will be visiting BVIS on September 16th and you will receive more details in due course.
Yesterday you will have received details for the CHQ clubs programme sign up. The deadline for selecting clubs online is Tuesday 8th September at 12.00 noon. Please be reminded that the clubs online are not allocated on a first come first serve basis so there is no advantage to being the first or the last person to add your name to the list. This is only the second time we have used the system and I would like to thank you for your patience whilst we iron out any glitches for the forthcoming year. For your information we intend to continue to use CHQ throughout the year so please be sure to keep your username and password in a safe and easily accessible place.
