Mr Paul Holyome Weekly Update 01/04/2016

01 April 2016

Dear Parents

On Monday Ms Lan returned from her epic adventure to the Antarctica. A group of Year 4 students accompanied by some staff from school were at the airport to meet Ms Lan and performed an outstanding penguin flash mob dance to welcome her home. It was great fun and I know Ms Lan was delighted to see the students and staff there ready to welcome her. She has of course come back with many stories to tell and is excited to share her experience and her adventures with the school community. Over the coming months, Ms Lan will be working in our school, working with BVIS Hanoi and many other organisations and schools in Vietnam to help further promote awareness of the damage that climate change is causing both here and worldwide. We should all feel extremely proud that we have an exceptional ambassador in Ms Lan who will represent our two BVIS schools on this most important issue.

Mr Paul Holyome Weekly Update 01/04/2016

I was delighted to attend the EYFS production of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ on Wednesday. What a wonderful performance. I am always amazed at how confident the very young children are at performing to large audiences and in their second language. Wednesday was no exception. The EYFS children were a credit to the school, to their teachers, teaching assistants and parents who I know have spent many hours supporting them for this spectacular show. Well done everyone.

Please be reminded that clubs finish today and you will have received instructions on how to log in and select clubs for Term 3. We now have a large number of students so it is important that parents support us by using CHQ to log in and select their clubs. We have also sent out instructions on how to reset or recover your password if you have lost or are unable to remember it. Please follow these instructions before contacting the school for further support.

We have one final week left of term and it promises to be a very busy one. On the morning of Friday 8thApril our Year 4 children will be presenting their production of ‘The Wind in the Willows’. I hope many of you will be able to attend to support the children in what I expect to be another amazing performance in front of a large crowd.

Finally,  I would like to remind you that school will close at 11.30am on Friday 8th April. School buses will leave promptly at this time . Please ensure appropriate arrangements are made to collect your children from school at this time.

I hope you have a relaxing weekend.
