A huge thank you to all those parents who joined us for the splendid moon festival celebrations yesterday morning. I really look forward to this event each year as it signifies the start of many special events and occasions to come. As ever, the dragon dance was well received by the children and the student performances were exceptional. It was very evident that a lot of hard work had gone into preparing for this amazing event and I would like to thank all the staff and students who worked tirelessly to ensure a great performance for us all.
In January I hosted an evening seminar outlining the requirements for accessing the top universities across the world. I made particular reference to the world wide acceptance of the CIE International A Level programme that we run here. This has been further endorsed by our graduates from this year being accepted without prejudice to some of the top universities around the world. Cambridge International Education have also launched a very useful video reminding us how widely accepted by admissions tutors the International A Level qualification is. You can view the video below:
As you know we have just started the exciting Juilliard music programme at the school. I am delighted to say that we have also been selected to be one of the first schools to deliver the Juilliard drama programme in the coming years. Mathew Williams our drama teacher has recently been selected to attend the Juilliard centre in New York alongside other selected experts to discuss and support the development of the teaching resources for the Juilliard drama programme. This is very exciting news for our school and is further recognition that BVIS is increasingly becoming recognised as one of the best international schools with world class facilities and highly experienced and highly qualified staff.
Finally, may I remind you that the BBGV charity run takes place on Sunday 25
September. Many people have registered and bought a t-shirt for the event. We would like to see as many of you there as possible to support this worthwhile event. If you have not done so already, you can register and collect a number and t-shirt from the primary reception office. We look forward to seeing many of you there.
I wish you all a very relaxing weekend.
