This week in the Primary School
Badminton City Championships
Throughout the year, BVIS children have the opportunity to compete against the other international schools in Ho Chi Minh City in a variety of sports. Fixtures and championships are held for the different age groups including Key Stage 2.
The first city championships of the year for Primary students took place on Wednesday 8th November. Our U11 badminton squad, made up of 6 girls and 6 boys from Year 5 and Year 6, coached by Mr Duc, travelled to SSIS and competed against 5 other international schools in girls’ doubles, boys’ doubles and mixed doubles badminton.
As the tournament got underway BVIS were playing very well, winning a lot of matches in the ‘round robin’ stage. 3 doubles pairs made it through to the semi-finals:
Trong trận đấu này, đội tuyển trường BVIS thi đấu rất tốt, các em thắng được nhiều trận ở vòng thi luân chuyển. 3 cặp thi đấu đã được vào vòng bán kết:
- Girls doubles – Rainy and Bao Anh
- Mixed doubles pair 1 - Hai Dang and Anna

- Mixed doubles pair 2 - Vi Minh and Nhan.

Sadly, we did not make it through to the finals, however, we did play off for 3rd place in the mixed doubles, both BVIS teams playing against each other! Congratulations to the winners of that match, winning the 3rd place trophy for mixed doubles - Hai Dang (5B) and Anna (6B) and well done to all of our badminton squad.
Love BVIS photo competition
Have you taken your family photo yet for the Love BVIS competition? There are some lovely prizes to be won and we will be announcing the winners in assembly next week.
I have spotted BVIS families throughout this week posing in their favourite place in the school for their photo so if you’ve not done this yet, you’ve still got time! Good luck!
BVIS staff are also taking part in their own Love BVIS photo competition and I have seen some of the entries already. There are some very creative ideas!
