Secondary Update – Mr Jack Rudin – 03/11/2017

03 November 2017

Dear Parents,

It is good to see everyone back well rested after the half term break.

Term has started with some of our year 13 students taking three entrance exams for Oxford and Cambridge universities.  It is great to see students having the ambition to aim for some of the most prestigious universities in the world. We are all wishing them luck in these endeavours.

It had also been a fun filled and busy week in the sporting area.

Ms Nguyen and her U19 badminton team travelled to SSIS on Monday to take part in their annual city championships. The team played fantastically and we are pleased to announce that we came first place in boys doubles and mixed doubles and second place in girls doubles.

Boys doubles – 1st place

Le, Huynh Chanh Tin 11B

Pham, Tran Phuong Minh 11V

Mixed doubles – 1st place

Luong, Ngoc Thang (Scott) 12I

Tran, Thuy Hong Minh 10V

Girls doubles – 2nd place

Tran, Phung Lam Hanh (Hazel) 11I

Tran Ai Cao Khoa 11V

On Tuesday 31st October, BVIS hosted the U14 Girls Basketball City Championships. A total of 9 games were played during the Championships, and BVIS were well represented by two U14 teams. The BVIS B Team finished their first City Championships in 6th place overall! The BVIS A Team secured a place in the finals and finished in 2nd place overall, winning the 2nd place trophy!

Well done to all players, coaches and tournament organisers. An excellent way to bring the U14 Basketball season to a close after such hard work and commitment from our U14 teams.

Well done to all those who took part and out in all the hard work and training to develop the skills and fitness thru need to do so well.

Have a great weekend

Jack Rudin
