Debate Day

30 March 2017

  • IMG_4086

On Wednesday, Years 8, 9 and 10 (with a few Year 7 helpers) all took to the floor in their houses in a bid to be crowned the best debaters. They day started with an eye-opening quiz whose results shocked many of the students. Did you know that 8 of the world’s richest people have the same amount of wealth as the lowest 50% combined?

In groups of 3, pupils then proceeded to debate 3 different motions. Nominations for the best students were put forward by our judges which comprised of 6th formers and teachers. These nominees had the nerve-racking task of debating 2 completely new motions in front of all Years 7-10s. Our showcase debaters did an absolutely fantastic job at eloquently putting across their views to all of their peers.
