This week in the Primary School
It was lovely to welcome you all to the Primary School this week! We have a large number of new children, so we hope they all had a happy time at BVIS this week as they settled into their new school.
To our returning families – we hope you had a good, refreshing break from school routines. Welcome back!
The teachers and teaching assistants have been hard at work for several weeks already preparing the school for the new academic year. As usual we have had some exciting new changes and additions to the school. We hope you like our new murals on floors 1 and 2 which have been specially designed to support our curriculum.
Before the children return to school we hold meetings and training sessions for all our teachers and teaching assistants. This year we invited Ms Carol Satterthwaite from the UK to deliver training in “Talk4Writing” at our BIS and BVIS schools both in HCMC and Hanoi. Ms Carol delivers training to leading international schools right around the world and we are confident that your children will benefit from the way our staff are trained in the latest educational strategies.
The teachers have also been busy earning housepoints to start the new academic year with the annual “BVIS Amazing Race” around District 7, again before the school re-opened, and also in the house competition held during assembly this morning.
We hope to see you next week at 17:30 in the Main Hall for our “Meet the Teachers” evening. Mr Oliver and I will be updating you on some of our developments this year and you will have the opportunity to visit your child’s classrooms to hear the teachers provide an overview of the year ahead.
