Secondary Update – Mr Jack Rudin – 25/08/2017

Dear Parents,

I hope that you have enjoyed having your children at home the last couple of months and you have had an enjoyable time with the family.

My family and I have had a busy summer planning our move to Vietnam and we are very excited to be here. It has been a great pleasure to meet all the returning staff and students over the past few days. I have been struck by the enthusiasm around the school and by our students engagement and positive attitude.

On Wednesday we had our first assembly. We talked to the students about the increasing amount of educational research showing that enthusiasm, perseverance, and curiosity in their studies is one of the biggest factors affecting their rate of progress at school. We encourage students to move away from the old idea that we are either good at something or not and believe that they have the power to work hard to achieve in any subject they have a passion and interest in.

In our assembly we celebrated the students who had shown particular perseverance to achieve things beyond our expectations last year. We also shared the great success of many of our graduating students who achieved their dreams and gone on to their first choice of university. These include:

NGO Thanh Lam

Who has been accepted to Bucknell University to study Environmental policy and has been accepted to the prestigious 'Presidential Fellow' program

TRAN Phuong Uyen (Sara)

Who has chosen to do Engineering in Australia and achieved grades that will allow her to gain entry into any of the G8 group of top Australian Universities.

NGUYEN Gia Thuy (Ivy)

Who has been accepted to Bates in the USA to study Pre-Med at a highly selective college where less than 25% of applicants are accepted and ranked in the top 6% of liberal arts college in US.

DANG Thanh Thuan

Who has been accepted at Birmingham University in the UK to study law.

CAO Ngoc Phuong Anh Cao

Who has been accepted to study Business Management at the University of Toronto which is ranked as the top university in Canada.

TRAN Dang Mai Khanh

Who has been accepted to study Communication studies at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam which is ranked in the top 1% of universities in Europe.

LE Hoang Long (Tommy)

Who has been accepted to study Economics at Pepperdine University which is in the top 15% of American Universities.

We are proud of all of our students who did very well two students gained straight A* at A level  and a further  four students gained A* in at least 1 A level.

I would like to congratulate all our students last year on their success and thank them and all their teachers for the hard work that led to this success.

I am looking forward to a great year of learning, enjoyment and success for all our students.

Have a great weekend

Jack Rudin
