Mr. Paul Holyome Weekly Update - 01/09/2017

01 September 2017

Dear parents

We have had a fantastic first full week back at school. The children have settled back into school very quickly and we are delighted with the very positive start that the school has made.

Most of you will know that each year we support the BBGV Charity Fun Run that takes place in Phu My Hung. This year it is taking place on Sunday 24th September. Last year we had over 400 participants from the BVIS community and it would be great if we could surpass this number. I do hope you are able to take the time to join us on this special occasion. I have provided the link to instructions on how to register below. It is always great to see people in our school designed t-shirt and you have the opportunity to order one of these for the event or you can of course use your t-shirt from previous years. We look forward to seeing many of you there.

As you know we take the security and safety of your children very seriously. This week the children and staff have been practicing exiting the school building in case of an emergency. Next week we will be carrying out a full evacuation drill so that everyone knows exactly what to do in case of an emergency. This is a very important part of our responsibilities here at BVIS and we will continue to practice for such eventualities over the year.

It is important that if you have any questions or queries that you contact the school as quickly as possible so that we can support you. Please be reminded that you should contact the teacher or tutor in the first instance. For general enquiries you should contact either Primary receptionist or Secondary receptionist.

As you know we are always keen to get feedback from our families on how to improve the school ever further. In the coming weeks you will be receiving details about how you can get involved in helping us continually improve the school. We will be looking for volunteers to meet with us at various times in the school year and engage in conversations about the school. I hope once we send this out that many of you will take the opportunity to engage with us in this important area of school development.

Finally, please be reminded that Monday 4th September is a public holiday and the school will be closed. School will reopen on Tuesday 5th at 8.30am.

I hope you all have a very good long weekend with your families.

Paul Holyome
