Dear parents

A very warm welcome back and I trust you all had a wonderful holiday and break with your families.

We have had a very busy start to the half term. The students and staff have started the half term with some amazing events.

On Thursday the Secondary English Department hosted a morning for parents on how to do well in English. A very informative session and thank you to all those who attended.

This week we have been celebrating world book week and the love of reading. Today, the children took the opportunity to dress up in famous characters from books to celebrate world book day. The children and parents had obviously gone to a great deal of effort to create fantastic costumes. It was a wonderful day and a great atmosphere. Well done to everyone involved.

Finally, we ended the week with our now annual ‘Grandparents Day’. This has now become one of our most popular events and it was so nice to see so many grandparents in school sharing experiences and activities with their grandchildren.

I wish you all a very relaxing weekend.

Paul Holyome
