Welcome our new academic staff at BVIS!

As Principal of BVIS HCMC, I must admit that this is one of my favourite times of the school year. Over the last week, we have been welcoming all of our new members of our teaching staff to our school, HCMC and Vietnam as a whole.

BVIS HCMC New Staff | Đội ngũ giáo viên mới

One sign a of a successful school like ours is not only the quality of staff that it has but also the ability to retain them, year on year. This year, we have a very small turnover of teaching staff with an additional 7 required for expansion purposes. On average, our teachers tend to stay beyond their first initial 2 year contract and speak highly of the well organised and rigorous induction programme that we arrange for them. All of our class teachers are fully UK qualified, with all EAL teachers holding a recognised English language teaching qualification. All staff within our school have to be fully police checked and are required to undertake regular Safeguarding training before they begin working within our school environment. The Health and Safety of all our students at BVIS HCMC is our number one priority.

This year, our new overseas staff include:

I feel it extremely important to make a good first impression and that begins from the moment new staff sign their teaching contract. On arrival into HCMC, all staff are met by a member of the Senior Leadership team and are personally escorted to their new accommodation that is of a very high standard. It has to feel like home from day one and we go the extra mile to always ensure that our BVIS HCMC staff feel looked after and respected. Having constantly reviewed and improved this process year on year, we are confident that all of our new staff members feel privileged to be a part of our great school community.

Communication is a major key to success, both across the life of the school and also during the induction process. We listened carefully to feedback – both positive and negative – to improve the quality of induction and settling, year on year. Due to our experience of approach, we find that our new teachers not only settle quickly but forge friendships with colleagues that last, both across our own school and within our extensive and diverse Nord Anglia Education family.

We only recruit and retain the very best teachers at BVIS and this is achieved through our extensive recruitment process, strict and selective recruitment criteria and competitive salary and benefit packages to ensure that our students have the best possible educational provision that we can provide.

Mr. Simon Higham

Principal
