Taking place on Tuesday 18th August 2020, the Orientation Day is regarded as one of the most important events on the BVIS calendar, sending the warmest and friendly welcome form BVIS to the newest members of the school’s community.
Understanding the common concerns of students and parents when moving to a new school, BVIS brought about useful information of school life as well as exciting experiences in order to support our new families and students to quickly adapt to the school’s engaging learning environment.
To ensure the health and safety of our community, the Orientation Day was well arranged with a strong focus on hygiene and personal distancing in the Main Hall for EYFS and Primary families and in Theatre for Secondary families respectively.
One of the most important activities during the Orientation Day is when students meet and interact with their new teachers and friends in their classrooms. This provides the students with the opportunity to get acquainted with their new friends and the friendly learning environment here at BVIS.
Ms Mary McAloon, Head of Primary highlighted the importance of parents and school, working in partnership to best support a child’s education. She also introduced all the useful communications channels that aids the timely engagement from parents with school.
At the Orientation Day, Mr Jack Rudin, Head of Secondary introduced all the important principles for students in the Secondary school and introduced each Head of Faculty so parents can better understand how to contact them should they be in need of any support.
The new school year officially starts tomorrow, and we wish all our new families, the very best for the upcoming year. As a community, we look forward to your enthusiastic engagement and can’t wait to offer you a memorable learning journey ahead!
