Year 3 Teacher/ Lower Primary Coordinator/ Year 3 Leader

Benjamin Brown

Since graduating from the University of Exeter with a BA in Philosophy and History, Ben has spent a large proportion of his time teaching in South Korea. He began teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) in an academy and then university in Seoul. After three years, Ben decided that he wanted to complete his PGCE with a specialism in Humanities thus returned to Exeter. Upon completion, he then taught a Year 1 class in London. Ben then returned to South Korea to the island of Jeju for a further 6 years, where he has been a Year 1, 2, 5 and 6 teacher while also being an assistant housemaster and then housemaster for a Years 5-7 boys full-time boarding house. At the same time, Ben also had roles such as Trips Coordinator and Humanities Coordinator. Ben is very passionate and knowledgeable about teaching children English as a second language, as such has completed many courses, most notably TESOL and TESMC. When not working, Ben is a passionate hiker, water sports lover and cook.
