Russian Evening

RT 2
Russian Evening An evening like no other took place at UC Krylatskoe on the 22nd of November. The hall swiftly transformed into a breathtaking environment, imbued with Russian culture and spirit.

“Insightful”, “intriguing” and “informative.” – These are just some of the words to describe the Russian evening that took place on November the 22nd, 2018. Families, teachers and students all came together to join each other for this wonderful evening. The night was about bringing different people together and allowing new families to feel even more welcome and to inform them more about Russia and its culture.

Throughout the evening, native Russian students and even those learning Russian as a second language had the courage to perform songs, poems, and even skits on stage in front of their peers, teachers and parents. It takes guts to do something like this! Not only did students perform original skits, they also performed a scene from the famous Russian cartoon “Prostokvashino” with their own adaptation.

At certain points in the evening, everyone had a chance to participate in a Russian quiz which challenged the audience’s  knowledge about Russian fashion and history. Who was the winner you wonder? The Sixth Form students, obviously!

Along with the MFL department who dedicated a great deal of their time and effort to putting on the evening, some Sixth Formers also helped with the organisation and advertising of this event. Everyone combined to make the Russian Evening such a fantastic success.

“A wonderful Russian evening at ISM: interesting quiz, performances, talented students, tasty food - we were very pleased. A big thank you to the organisers! Only one downside: the evening ended too quickly. We will be eagerly waiting for the Russian evening the following year!” - Olesya Gumennaya

Thank you to all those who were able to be a part of this alluring evening, and hope to see you all next year!
