Autumn football returned to ISM once again with Rosinka and the German School of Moscow visiting us on Lower Campus.

With the weather on our side, we had a beautiful sunny day to enjoy the football. The leaves weren’t the only way of bringing colour into our school that day; the football we all witnessed proved to be of terrific quality and made for great viewing.

All of the teams were evenly matched this year, with many trading victories in the group stages. The teams were so closely matched that goal difference turned out to be the deciding factor. In the Year 1/2 Final, Rosinka faced off against Lower Campus, with Rosinka winning a tense finale on penalties. The drama continued as Year 3 and 4 saw Lower Campus and the German School of Moscow draw 2-2 in a game where Lower Campus found themselves behind on two occasions. Their steely determination helped them ultimately prevail, as they battled back to defeat the German School of Moscow in a penalty shootout.

Inter-school sports are highly competitive affairs, and a great way for children to develop their skill and confidence. When a tournament like this occurs, they are invariably energetic and happy affairs, as was the case this autumn. A big thank you to all of our young sports men and women for participating; we look forward to seeing you at the next competitive event!
