Our After-School Activities programme at the International School of Moscow is an excellent way for children to explore their interests and broaden their minds. This term, we are doing more than ever to provide children with the choices that spark their imagination. From Lego to painting, football, cooking and so much more, the children have a wealth of experiences to choose from.

This term, we are doing more than ever to provide children with the choices that spark their imagination. To start with, children now have the opportunity to select their activity on a weekly basis. Whilst they might be interested in a football match one week, they can choose to try an artistic endeavour the following week. Those who wish to choose the same activity each week are certainly free to do so. In this way, we give control of their self-exploration to the children themselves. What a great way to build independence!
Additionally, we are proud to celebrate the return of our paid ‘Pro Clubs’. This term, children will have the opportunity to join a professional cooking lesson held by real chefs at a local restaurant. The first group have already enjoyed creating their own pizzas and chocolate milkshakes in Week 1. As Covid-19 regulations ease further, we are looking forward to even more opportunities in this direction, encompassing skills as diverse as martial arts, football, swimming and more.
The summer holidays are often seen as a chance for children to relax and take a break from learning. However, children’s brain development means that the the learning never stops or even slows down. Outside of the classroom their minds remain as open as ever to exploring the world around them, using their imagination and discovering new things. With this in mind, parents might begin to appreciate the incredible opportunities that the summer brings.
