Krylatskoe Year Three Production: Plastic Pirates

Krylatskoe Year Three Production: Plastic Pirates The Year 3 Krylatskoe students wowed everyone last half-term with their fantastic, swashbuckling display of Plastic Pirates. With plenty of drama and laughs aplenty, not to mention an important environmental message for all of us, Plastic Pirates was the perfect show to re-introduce productions to Lower Campus for the first time since 2020.

The Year 3 Krylatskoe students wowed everyone last half-term with their fantastic, swashbuckling display of Plastic Pirates. With plenty of drama and laughs aplenty, not to mention an important environmental message for all of us, Plastic Pirates was the perfect show to re-introduce productions to Lower Campus for the first time since 2020.

The story began with Captain Clingfilm, his parrot Polly Styrene, and the crew of the Plastic Pearl setting sail for another bountiful adventure. However, these were no ordinary pirates! For these pirates had no interest in gold. Instead, they scoured the seas looking for plastic: colourful, versatile, useful, durable and in all shapes and sizes.

Unfortunately, beneath the sea, some of the creatures were feeling the full force of this. Some were wearing it, some were hampered by it, and the turtles and some of the fish even ate it. Things were getting desperate! Luckily the sea creatures, joined by the sea birds, managed to explain this to the pirates.

Recognising the error of their ways, the pirates vow to use plastics in a much more responsible way in the future, and to set about cleaning up the mess they have made of their wonderful sea.

Throughout the spectacle, there was an abundance of superb songs. The pirates and the sea creatures sang brilliantly to an awed audience throughout. We were also treated to a pair of fantastic solos, sung by the Captains and the Parrots, which produced a thunderous round of applause from everybody watching.

At the end of the show, Year 3’s brilliant acting and singing brought a standing ovation from parents, fellow students and siblings alike. Together, the students and teachers created an unforgettable memory for everyone watching and certainly raised the bar for the other year groups. We are now very much looking forward to watching Year 4’s production in November.
