At LCIS, personalised learning goes beyond simply adapting a lesson. It’s about truly understanding each student—their needs, interests, and potential—and shaping their educational journey so that they succeed. This might involve targeted support to build confidence in a specific subject or offering more demanding tasks to challenge those ready to advance. It’s not always easy to spot students who need to be stretched beyond the usual level to stay motivated. Our smaller class sizes and experienced teachers mean these students are given the extra challenges they need to stay engaged and reach their full potential.
For us, personalisation means more than just academic support—it encompasses help for students with specific learning needs, tailored assistance with English and French language acquisition, and a solid foundation of pastoral care. As students begin to consider their future careers and university options, we provide ongoing, individualised guidance to help them make informed choices. Throughout this journey, our teachers maintain close communication with families to ensure that every child feels seen, supported, and valued.
Whether your child needs encouragement to stay motivated or is ready to accelerate their learning, they’ll find the right balance of support and challenge at LCIS.
The IB Diploma, offered in the final two years of school, is a rigorous academic pathway that balances depth with breadth. This year our International Baccalaureate graduates achieved an outstanding average IB Diploma score of 35, well above the global average. 21% of our graduates achieved 38 points or higher, and 18% earned the bilingual ENG-FR diploma.
IB students study six subjects across multiple disciplines, alongside three core components that develop critical thinking, global citizenship, and independent research skills:
To help students transition smoothly, LCIS introduces ToK lessons from Year 10, giving them an early start on developing the mindset and skills they’ll need for success in the IB and beyond.
LCIS is proud to have 2025 graduates going on to study at:
Our Primary School takes a topic-led approach to learning that encourages curiosity and creativity. Instead of teaching subjects in isolation, we bring them together under engaging themes. One example is our Year 4 unit on “Chocolate”, where students explore the geography of cocoa production, the science of melting points, the ethics of fair trade, and even create their own chocolate packaging designs.
This immersive approach helps students make meaningful connections across the subject areas of Geography, Art, Science, History, Music, and Technology in particular, making learning more memorable and engaging.
We also focus on developing the personal qualities students need to thrive. Through eight Personal Learning Goals—including resilience, empathy, adaptability, and collaboration—children grow in confidence, character, and emotional intelligence.
At LCIS, we value feedback from our community—and we act on it. In our most recent parent survey:
Every child deserves to feel supported, challenged, and inspired at school. At LCIS, we offer a personalised approach that helps each student thrive—both in their learning and in who they are becoming.
