Dear Parents,
This past week has been filled with exciting events and opportunities for our young learners. Here are some highlights and upcoming activities to look forward to:
Saturday Morning Beach Clean-up with Beyond Plastics
It was fantastic to see families from all three campuses, and from the local community, coming together for the Sai Kung Community Beach clean-up organised in collaboration with Beyond Plastics. Our focus on celebrating, protecting, and understanding the natural world is a focus for our school, especially with our special location in Sai Kung. Hong Kong's beauty is truly remarkable, and instilling a sense of appreciation and care for our environment in our children is so important.
Through engaging activities like Beach Clean-ups, Backyard Gang explorations, visits to Lions Nature and Clearwater Bay Country Park, Kadoorie Farm, Sea Scouts, and Wild Explorers, we aim to introduce our children to the diverse outdoor environments of Hong Kong, fostering a deep connection with its flora, fauna, and landscapes.
Upcoming Summer Term Events and Trips
We have more exciting events and trips lined up for the summer term that will encourage our children to explore and connect with nature and the community e.g. International Day, Sea Scouts, Lions Nature Park and Transition events to our Primary Campus. Your child's class teachers will provide further details about these upcoming activities, so stay tuned for more information.
Wednesday Morning Visit to Sai Kung Community Centre
This coming Wednesday morning, our Reception children will be visiting the Sai Kung Community Centre to perform a play for the elderly members of our community. This annual event is always much enjoyed by the elders, and this year, our children will be performing "The Magic Paintbrush." This enchanting story follows a girl named Shen, who uses her magical paintbrush to create pots of fish and oysters to feed the hungry villagers. We look forward to sharing photographs with you next week of this performance.
International Day Excitement is Growing!
One of the most memorable and enjoyable events of the year is our International Day Celebration. This year, the NAIS Sai Kung International Day will be held on Friday 30th May. Information has been shared by Ms Lewsey, who organises the day in collaboration with parent volunteers. If you would like to volunteer and help host a ‘Country Room’, please click HERE to sign up.
Transitions
To help prepare parents for the up-and-coming transition within the Sai Kung Campus, we will be holding optional Parent Information Sessions for each year group. This is an opportunity to learn about the next academic year and what it holds for your child.
All information will be shared on Firefly, if you are unable to attend.
Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in our school community.
Yours sincerely,
Ruth Hanson
