Dear Parents,
It was wonderful to host our first Key Stage 3 Summer Showcase and to see our students confidently leading their parents around the school, proudly demonstrating their learning and achievements. Thank you to all parents who contributed to the day and for being actively involved in the learning process. Congratulations to the Class of 2025! Graduation was a truly special occasion, a memorable time to celebrate this important milestone. We wish all our graduates a relaxing and enjoyable rest of the summer.
Graduation Reflection – Mrs. Holt
On Friday we enjoyed the celebration that is the Year 13 graduation with students their families and teachers.
Mr Duncan in his speech implored our class of 2025 to focus not on what they hope to achieve but who they want to be.
The ceremony was filled with emotion as we all reflected on our students' time at NAIS Hong Kong with over a quarter of the Class of 2025 having studied at the school since we opened in 2014 when they were in Year 3. Indeed, there was a special moment in the ceremony when Mr Holt, Mrs Doherty and Mrs Chamier spoke to their original Year 3 cohort.
Another very special moment was when our students thanked their families in their first language or mother-tongue.
The ceremony also included speeches from our valedictorian Rylan H and student ambassador Soleil C.
We will share more photos in future updates but for now - congratulations to our graduating class of 2025!
International Day – Mrs. Rankin
International Day preparations are in full swing in the Secondary campus! Students are designing classroom windows to represent their chosen countries and are busily preparing for their highly anticipated presentations for next week. Thank you to all parents who are supporting our students in celebrating this important occasion, and a reminder that on Friday 13th June, students may attend school in their National Dress or colours to represent their nationality.
Football/sports shirts are discouraged as national colours can be worn instead. Thank you also to our PTA and parent volunteers who have generously signed up to support the school by hosting tables on Friday. I look forward to sharing updates from the week with you all following the celebrations!
Celebrating Our Students Achievement – Angelo C (7A)
Written by Mr. Chan, Father of Angelo:
I am proud to share that my son Angelo was the youngest artist to hold a solo exhibition last summer, organised by KC100 Art Space and the Hong Kong Chinese Arts and Culture Promotion Foundation. The exhibition showcased over 170 of his paintings created since he was two years old, including award-winning pieces from international competitions. Angelo has won 210 international art awards, including 100 Gold and 50 Silver medals.
The opening ceremony was attended by seven consuls from six countries in Hong Kong, including ambassadors and consuls from Japan, Mexico, Türkiye, Korea, Poland, and Latvia, alongside notable guests such as DJ Jim Yan. A video of the event and messages of support can be viewed online, and a related Instagram post has received over 1.5 million views.
Additionally, Angelo was invited by the Consul General of Türkiye to design the official greeting cards for Turkey’s National Day for three consecutive years, becoming the first and youngest Hong Kong designer to do so.
Angelo also won an Honorable Mention in Mexico’s “28th This is My Mexico” International Children’s Painting Competition, chosen from nearly 13,700 participants worldwide. His work is now on a national tour starting in Mexico City.
Finally, Angelo received the prestigious “Mount Fuji Overseas Special Award” in Japan’s 29th Mount Fuji Painting Competition, beating over 5,800 entrants. He was invited to Fujinomiya City to exhibit his work and share his passion for Japanese culture.

Sports Updates – Ms. Wiltshire
U14 Netball have made it to the Semi-Final on Wednesday 4th June.
Match Reports
U12 Boys Football
A place in the U12 boys football finals was up for grabs going into the final match of the regular season against Hong Kong Academy at the FTC in LOHAS Park.
Light rain and a good breeze made for great conditions for both teams to put on a show. The talk before the game was about seizing the opportunity of qualifying for the finals and showcasing some of the great football seen so far. The team dominated from the first kick of the first half with the ball, spending most of the time in the opposition half - Oscar in goal would’ve have been justified in complaining of being bored. Unfortunately, the pressure the team was applying was not converting into any threatening attempts at goal and the game was 0-0 at half time.
The second half saw our opponents attempt to threaten our defensive half more and a few near misses showed we had a game on our hands. The game swung like a pendulum and within the space of 4 minutes the boys sent 3 shots agonizingly over the bar. Their keeper couldn’t hold onto one shot and with the goal beckoning a follow-up attempt could not be turned goal-wards.
As the minutes ticked away, gaps started to appear where gaps had never been seen before. HKA knew a draw would be enough; we knew we needed to win. The pace of the game got higher, and more mistakes began to be made - whose nerves would hold?
The final minutes were like a tennis match with the ball moving quickly from one end to another. At the final whistle the game ended 0-0. An agonising way to end the season with a very narrow loss in the first game, the deciding factor in a game that could’ve easily have been won, as it was lost.
Well done to all U12 boys that were involved this season. The U14 season begins in August for all Y8/9 in the next academic year! Be ready to bounce back strongly!
U14 Netball
The U14 Netball team delivered an exceptional performance in their final match before heading to the semi-finals against Malvern. The first quarter began with a shaky start, marked by hasty decision-making and errant passes, yet the team managed to secure a narrow 3-2 lead. In the second quarter, their focus sharpened, and while the speed of play increased, it created both opportunities and unforced errors. A pivotal half time team talk emphasized the importance of slowing down, allowing for thoughtful communication and movement.
The third quarter showcased the team’s brilliance, highlighted by Antony’s impressive shooting and a formidable defensive effort, leading to a dominant 12-5 score, with GSIS failing to score. In the final quarter, strategic position changes further enhanced team cohesion, with a strong attack and outstanding shooting precision, the match culminated in a resounding victory of 21-7. This triumph not only reflects their skill but also their resilience and teamwork as they advance to the finals.
Looking Ahead
Best regards,
Fiona Thorndike
