Early Years Campus Weekly Update

Early Years Campus Weekly Update - Early Years Campus Weekly Update
Dear Parents,

As we draw closer to the end of the academic year, we are excited to share all the fantastic activities happening in our classes.

Celebrating Our Growth and Achievements

The stage is set for our End of Year Celebrations, and our students are busy preparing their songs, dances, and poems. This is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on each child’s growth and achievements throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you at our End of Year Celebrations, where we can celebrate together everyone’s accomplishments.

Sea Scouts Adventures

Early Years Campus Weekly Update - Early Years Campus Weekly Update

We are thrilled to announce that our Year 1 and Reception classes recently participated in two amazing sessions of Sea Scouts at Clear Water Bay with Asia Adventure Sports. The children had a fantastic time, and we were fortunate to enjoy beautiful weather.

Our adventure began with warm-up tag games on the beach, where the children embraced the joy of outdoor play. They learned about the essential role of a lifeguard, discussing the important tools they need, such as a surfboard, a rescue ring, a whistle, a first aid kit, and what they could do if they ever saw someone who needed help. This introduction not only highlighted sea safety but also instilled a sense of responsibility in our young learners.

Once we ventured into the water, the children practiced using their ‘silly legs’ to run in safely and had a blast doing belly splashes. As the children’s confidence grew in the water we moved into new skills like 'Dolphin diving' and sea swimming.

The Importance of Outdoor Learning

These Sea Scouts experiences are part of our broader commitment to outdoor learning at NAIS Sai Kung. Engaging with the environment fosters curiosity and a love for nature, essential for holistic development. We believe that outdoor activities not only enhance physical skills but also build confidence and teamwork among children.

As we look ahead, we are excited to expand these opportunities throughout the calendar year, incorporating programs like Wild Explorers, Sea Scouts, and Nature Trips for all our young learners. These experiences allow children to appreciate the beautiful environment we live in while learning vital skills such as sea safety and environmental awareness.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child's learning journey.

Yours sincerely,

Ruth Hanson
