Primary Campus Weekly Update 23 Mar 2026

End of Term Thank you!

At the end of a term, it is great to reflect on the progress that we have made both at home and at school. It is normal then to think about what is ahead, and how we will get there. However, equally important, we should take time to express appreciation and gratitude to those in our lives that have helped to make a difference.

In this light, thank you to all our wonderful parents for the delicious Parent Teacher breakfast last week. Your generosity, time, and support throughout means so much to our staff and helps create a warm, caring community for our children. From the PTA support at the Christmas Par-Tay, the Sports Day, our Ice Creams for Chinese New Year to our Parent Teacher Breakfast. We are truly grateful for everything you do to strengthen our school and for the positive energy you bring.

To our facilities, IT, Administration, Teachers, and TLAs, for your constant dedication and teamwork throughout this term thank you. Your hard work ensures our children learn in a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment every day. We are grateful for the many ways you contribute to the smooth running of our school and for the positivity you bring to our community.

Parents, “How do you engage our children in reading?”

Mr. Sharma, “Well, I’m glad you asked…”

Over the last two weeks, we were thrilled to welcome five incredible guests to our Lam Tin campus, as part of the Hong Kong Young Readers Festival! Studies consistently show that reading for pleasure boosts children's empathy, mental wellbeing, and academic outcomes across all subjects making days like these so invaluable.

Our children were able to experience:

  • 🐾 Real research in action with Rachel Ip, including footage of animals using eco-bridges mentioned in her stories.
  • 🍜 Interactive poetry readings with Janet Wong (the noodle poem was a highlight!).
  • ✍️ A sensory writing workshop with Caris Cruz, creating a story together as a group.
  • 🖍️ A hilarious live drawing session with Ben Clanton, featuring a student-named character.
  • 🇭🇰 A captivating live drawing session celebrating Hong Kong stories with Catherine Choi.
What unforgettable days of creativity and inspiration! Thank you to our visitors for sharing their talents with us.

The Kids Lit Fest @ISF. A cross-campus challenge for children

I would describe the Kid's Lit Quiz as just unique, as I have never been to anything like that before. The Kid's Lit Quiz was a quiz about popular books such as Harry Potter, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe and Alice in Wonderland. We had many different questions and after each round we would get a bonus question where we were able to win a free book. It was so very distinctive to what I had expected. Considering that it was Nord Anglia's first time to participate in this quiz, I would say that we did do very well.

In each round, there were 10 questions and with 10 rounds which therefore means we answered 100 questions! The primary team did the best we could. Our final score... 64 out of 110. And in terms of positioning, we came 8th out of 23 schools. AMAZING! Overall, I think that this was just an incredible experience for me and hope next time we win!

The Kid's Lit Quiz was so much fun! Even though we didn't win it was great. All the teammates were nice, they gave us lots of snacks and it was like a quiz. What could be better?
