Dear Parents,
This week has been a particularly special one in Hong Kong, with the city coming alive for the Hong Kong Sevens. It has been a privilege for our school to share in the excitement and spirit of this iconic sporting event, especially through the outstanding involvement of our students at the Cathay Youth Invitational 7s. Alongside this, we have celebrated academic successes, inspiring university encounters, and memorable community moments across the school. As we also enter the examination season, I would like to wish our Year 11 and 13 students every success — we are incredibly proud of their commitment and determination and will continue to support them every step of the way.

Physics Challenge success! Ms. E Allen
We are thrilled to share our students’ achievements in the 2026 Intermediate and Senior Physics Challenge. This year’s Senior Physics Challenge paper was especially demanding, and we are proud of every student who prepared so diligently and represented NAIS HK with such positivity. It is also worth mentioning that this was the first time that NAIS HK was represented in this challenge, so to do so well has been incredibly affirming!
In the Intermediate Physics Challenge, Global Silver certificates were awarded to Hans C (Y11), Kabir C (Y11), Abby C (Y10), and Siena C (Y11); Global Bronze I to Aayush D (Y10), Ethan F (Y10), and Ruskin F (Y11); and Global Bronze II to James K (Y10). In the Senior Physics Challenge, Jihoo K (Y13) achieved Global Gold, with Global Silver awarded to Theo Z (Y12) and Weidong Z (Y11), and Global Bronze to Lindsay G (Y12), Eli Z (Y13), and Vasco L (Y12).
Several students also qualified for enrichment opportunities: Jihoo K for the St Catharine’s College, Cambridge Physics Camp; Jihoo K, Theo Z, and Weidong Z for the BPhO Asia Camp; and Hans C, Kabir C, Abby C, and Siena C for the BPhO Junior Asia Camp. Fourteen students in total have qualified for the IPC and SPC Finals.
Seeing students tackling Physics problems outside of the curriculum was extremely impressive, and we cannot wait to see how far we can take this competition in the future! Congratulations to every participant on their efforts and growth and thank you to our parents for your continued encouragement at home.
Creativity, Technology and MIT – Mr. E Rees
We are delighted to share some exciting news. Victoria K from class 9B has been invited to attend a special program at MIT, where she will experience life as a student, take part in lectures and workshops led by professors, and contribute to a collaborative project.
This opportunity was highly competitive across the Nord Anglia group. Students were asked to design innovative solutions to real-world problems, and Victoria’s proposal stood out. She designed a smart ring that monitors students’ heart rate and stress levels—an idea that aligns closely with MIT’s cutting-edge research into biometric technologies.
We are incredibly proud of Victoria’s creativity, determination, and success. Please join us in congratulating her on this remarkable achievement.

Cathay Youth Invitational 7s 2026
Last week, a group of our senior students took part in a truly special rugby experience — the Cathay Youth Invitational 7s, running alongside the world-famous HSBC Hong Kong Sevens at Kai Tak Sports Ground.
Our students joined forces with peers from ICHK to form the NAIS/ICHK Barbarians, competing against some of the best school and club sides from around Hong Kong and China. The fact that this team came together at all is worth celebrating - it was entirely student-driven, requiring real initiative, collaboration and a willingness to step outside their comfort zone before a ball had even been kicked.

With limited time to train together as a combined squad, they faced opponents who train weekly as a unit and in some cases had flown in internationally to compete. None of that showed in the way our students carried themselves. They finished second in their group before navigating a series of tightly contested knockout matches, ultimately claiming the runners-up medals in the Plate competition - a fantastic result by any measure.
What stood out most, however, was not just the skill and physicality on display, but the heart and determination with which they played throughout. They were a credit to themselves and to the school, and the experience of competing in such an iconic environment - at the spiritual home of rugby sevens - is one they will carry with them for a long time.
We could not be prouder of everything they achieved this weekend, and we are already looking forward to what they will do next year.
Congratulations to Noah R, Morgan H, Theo N, Caleb B, Oliver H, and Efe D.
Wishing Year 11 Good Luck in their exams – Dr. L Curley

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our Year 11 students the very best as they begin their IGCSE examinations. They have reached an important milestone. These examinations represent the result of their hard work, perseverance, and the progress they have made over the course of the year and throughout their time at NAIS HK. While the next 6 weeks or so may feel busy and demanding, it is also a chance to demonstrate what they can do with confidence and focus.
We were proud to celebrate the Year 11 journey at our Celebration Assembly on Friday 17th April. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the memories across the years at NAIS HK, to celebrate the legacy they will leave, and to thank the teachers and form tutors who have supported them throughout. We were also delighted by the performances from the String Quartet, Ruskin on the Guzheng, Chloe and Angela performing Stay, and Mavis on Acoustic Guitar with Jana singing I Love You by The Walters.
We are fully behind all of our Year 11 students. Teachers will continue to support them with encouragement and guidance throughout the examination period. My message to them is; please stay focused, take each exam step by step, and believe in your preparation; you are ready!
Year 13 Final Day – Mr. C Spanos
Year 13 students had their final school day on Friday 17th April and were clapped through Kwun Tong Campus by our Year 7 to 12 students. This was a fitting tribute to their time at our school and a wonderful way to mark their time at the school and send them off ahead of their study leave.
We look forward to welcoming our Year 13 student back to campus shortly for their IBDP exams and wish them every success with these!
Higher Education update – Mr. W Chang
-#FiresideFriday
Last week, we wrapped up the week with an incredible #FiresideFriday session featuring Mr. Royds, the COO of a leading Asset Management company. He generously took the time to visit our campus and share his higher education and career journey with our IB students. His talk was truly inspirational, and our students were deeply impressed by his personal insights and professional experiences. We would like to extend a huge thank you to Mr. Royds for his valuable time and for sharing such practical, real-world advice with our future leaders!

-HKU Professor and Admission Manager Visit
Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting Prof. Rachel Lui and Mr. Isaac Wong from The University of Hong Kong (HKU) for a special on-campus event. Prof. Lui delivered an insightful talk on how artificial intelligence may shape our society, followed by an informative admissions session that introduced HKU’s undergraduate programmes and application process. Both Prof. Lui and Mr. Wong clearly enjoyed speaking with our students and parents, and it was wonderful to see our families engaging so thoughtfully throughout the visit. It was an excellent opportunity for students and parents to gain valuable first-hand insight into one of Hong Kong’s leading universities.

-Alumni visit
It was a wonderful surprise to welcome back two of our very own NAIS Hong Kong alumni last week! Rylan, currently studying at the University of Cambridge, and Bronte, currently studying at the University of Exeter, both took the time to visit our school and share their first-year university experiences with our IB students. Their honest and insightful reflections offered our students invaluable advice and a candid look at life beyond NAIS HK, and they were incredibly generous in answering students' questions. We are truly grateful for their time and thoughtful sharing. Welcome back home, Rylan and Bronte!
