Dear Parents,
Our commitment to student wellbeing remains central to all that we do, highlighted by initiatives such as Health in Action Week, which encourages students to reflect on both local and global health issues while developing positive habits. Alongside this, our enrichment programme continues to flourish, with students showing enthusiasm and dedication across ECAs, the arts, and sport.
As we approach the end of term, we look forward to key events including our Keystage 3 Summer Showcase, Secondary Swimming Gala, Summer Concert and Performing Arts showcase—all fantastic opportunities to celebrate student talent and achievement.
We would also like to warmly invite parents to take part in our International Day on 12th June. This is always a highlight of the school calendar—an incredibly popular, parent-led event that students absolutely love. It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the rich diversity within our community, share traditions, and learn more about cultures from around the world. We strongly encourage families to get involved and help make this special day as vibrant and meaningful as possible—we look forward to the best one yet! The Year 6 Lesson Taster Days provided an energising and memorable introduction to secondary school life, with students fully immersed in a carousel of engaging subjects across two dynamic mornings. Each department designed experiences to spark curiosity and build confidence: in Science, students used Chemistry techniques to solve The Mystery of Mr. Richardson’s Chocolate Bar; French lessons encouraged students to ask and answer questions to learn more about their classmates; History explored knights and the language of heraldry; and Geography tackled the global issue of plastic pollution through the thought-provoking lesson “A Place for Plastic.” These carefully planned activities created an immediate sense of excitement and purpose.
Across both days, students moved between lessons with increasing confidence, quickly adapting to new classroom environments, teachers, and specialist activities. The sessions were a fantastic showcase of the specialist teaching in secondary and the exciting opportunities ahead! By the end of each day, students were noticeably more assured, participating more actively and demonstrating growing independence. The variety of subjects ensured that all learners were engaged, whether through scientific investigation, collaborative language work, historical discovery, or discussions about global challenges.
Overall, the taster days offered far more than a preview of lessons, they provided a meaningful and supportive step towards transition. Students embraced new challenges with enthusiasm and resilience, leaving with a clearer understanding of secondary school learning and a genuine sense of excitement for what lies ahead. We now look forward to welcoming Year 6 students again to our Kwun Tong site in June, where they will take part in an exciting House Challenge. During this challenge they will continue to build connections, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging as they prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.
A massive thank you to all the secondary teachers involved, as well as our year 6 colleagues for making these days so memorable and impactful to our young learners.
In response to the 79th World Health Assembly in Geneva, our Student Wellbeing Committee has organised a week of activities to raise awareness of local and global health issues.
Students will learn about Hong Kong's healthcare system and global humanitarian crises during two tutor time sessions. They may participate in an online quiz on Thursday 21st May, and on Friday 22nd May, KS3 students will explore the NHS Eatwell Guide through a paper plate painting activity during lunch.
On Monday 18th May, students may dress down in green attire for Mental Health Awareness Month. A $10 cash donation will go to the HK Hospital Authority Charitable Foundation.
We would particularly like to draw your attention to the lunchbox competition, running all week. Students are invited to upload a photo of a healthy lunchbox along with a picture of themselves holding it to verify authenticity. This is a wonderful opportunity for a bonding experience at home, perhaps packing a balanced meal together, discussing what makes a lunch nutritious, or simply taking a moment to connect over food. Every entry earns a house point, and the best student entry receives five bonus points.
Thank you for supporting our students' wellbeing initiatives.

As we move through May, a gentle reminder that teacher-led ECAs will end the week beginning Monday, 25th May. We have been delighted to see the enthusiasm, curiosity, and growth your children have shown throughout this term's ECA program. From sports and performing arts to STEM and creative writing, their engagement and commitment have been truly wonderful to witness. It has been a joy watching new skills develop and friendships deepen across different year groups.
For those families with paid ECAs, please check directly with your child's provider to confirm final dates, as these differ from one provider to another. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Today, we wrapped up the week with an incredible #FiresideFriday session featuring Mr. Chan, a highly respected music producer, songwriter, and university faculty member. He generously took the time to visit our campus and share his higher education and career journey with our IB students. His valuable insights into the creative industries were truly inspirational, and our students were deeply impressed by his personal and professional experiences. We would like to extend a huge thank you to Mr. Chan for his time and for sharing such fantastic advice with our aspiring creative students!

A massive congratulations to these students in years 7, 8, 9 and 10 who are leading the way in supporting their House with well-earned House Points!

Match reports
U14 Netball
The Knights played Kellett on Monday 11th May, and GSIS on Wednesday 13th May.
Overall, it was a fantastic couple of matches for the NAIS HK U14 Netball squad. Over the past five weeks, the team has shown significant progress in both skill and strategy, and that growth was evident across both games—full of energy, determination, and clearly enjoying playing together.
Against Kellett, the Knights began strongly and showed composure under pressure. With purposeful teamwork and intensity across all four quarters, the squad created attacking opportunities and defended with purpose. As the game built, confidence grew, and the team finished strongly in an exciting contest, securing the win 16–11.
Against GSIS, we faced a tougher challenge and unfortunately were edged 13–9. The squad remained resilient throughout, working hard to apply pressure and find opportunities, even when the momentum shifted. While the result was not in our favour, the effort and team cohesion were clear, and there were valuable moments that reflect how far the team has come.
We now await the final league standings to confirm whether we have qualified for the playoffs.
