Dear Parents,
International Day and Summer Concert

Our recent International Day was a vibrant celebration of the rich diversity that makes our school community so special. We know that representation matters deeply. It allows children to see their identity, culture, and experiences reflected, valued, and respected in a shared space.
The event brought together parents, children, and teachers in a powerful display of unity and belonging. Families proudly shared traditions, languages, food, and stories from around the world, creating meaningful connections across cultures.
This collective participation reinforced the message that every voice matters and every background enriches our community. A huge thanks to our Parent Volunteers, our PTA and our Class Coordinators who all converged last week to make this happen!
For our students, seeing their cultures represented builds confidence, pride, and a stronger sense of self and identity. Equally, it broadens perspectives, fostering curiosity, empathy, and respect for others. These are essential qualities for thriving in a global society and an international community such as ours.
International Day was not just a celebration; it was a reminder of the importance of inclusivity and the strength we gain when we come together. It is reasonable to say that building stronger understanding and acceptance across international communities will always be a critical part of all schools’ core purposes.

Thank you to all parents, staff, and students who contributed to making this event such a meaningful and memorable experience.
Allocations of classes, teachers and TLAs
As we plan for the next academic year, I would like to share that class allocations, Teachers, and Teaching and Learning Assistants’ (TLAs) positioning in school are carefully considered through a highly complex process. Decisions made by the school focus on the needs of every child in mind, taking into account academic progress, social dynamics, wellbeing, learning styles, friendships, and staffing expertise.
We aim to foster balanced and supportive learning environments for all children. This process involves significant collaboration and thoughtful review from teachers and school leaders. Final allocations will be shared with parents before the end of the school year to support a smooth and positive transition.
Summer Concert: Decades NAIS HK

I always ask my choir students the same question: Why do we do this? Why do we sing? Their answer is always simple “because we love it.” And that love was unmistakably on display at last week’s summer concert.
We create art first and foremost for ourselves. We write songs, we sing, and we play instruments because it brings us joy. There’s a deep sense of pride that comes from creating something meaningful, something that not everyone can do. But music isn’t only for us.
We also create because it brings joy to others. In moments of hardship, sadness, or uncertainty, music has the power to bring light and hope. Last week’s performance did exactly that. I could see it and feel it throughout the room. I saw the pride in the children on stage, but I also saw the joy reflected in the audience.
That’s why I will always continue to ask my students why. Why do we make music? Why do we sing? It’s so important that they understand the significance of what they are contributing to the world. After the concert, I asked some of the students to reflect on their experience, and their responses were truly beautiful.
