Dear Parents,

It has been a busy and positive week in Secondary, with a range of events highlighting student effort and achievement. From the strong participation at the Swimming Gala to success in storytelling and the performing arts, it’s been great to see students representing the school so well.

As we begin the countdown to the end of term, there is a real sense of momentum across the school, with many opportunities still ahead to celebrate students’ work and involvement. I would also like to congratulate our Year 11 students on completing their IGCSE examinations—a significant milestone. They have approached this period with maturity and resilience, and we are very proud of them.

Thank you for your continued support, particularly around staff development and upcoming events. We look forward to International Day and the Summer Concert, and to sharing these moments with you.

What a fantastic and energetic day we had at our Secondary Swimming Gala on Friday 5th June at Kwun Tong Swimming Pool! More than 130 swimmers from Years 7–10 took part across the day in a brilliant mix of individual and relay events, all competing fiercely (and proudly) for their Houses. Congratulations to Windsor, who were the overall winners, and a huge well done to Jake D for swimming 100m freestyle under 1 minute—what an incredible achievement! It was also fantastic to see such a high level of effort and determination from all our swimmers, with great sportsmanship throughout the competition. We were especially impressed by the Year 7 and Year 8 swimmers who stepped up to swim in relays to support their Houses, demonstrating real teamwork, courage, and community spirit. We are still checking times against existing records, so we’ll update you again next week once everything has been verified, but we can already say this was a memorable gala full of speed, excitement, and brilliant character—well done to every student who participated!

Staff PD Support

Our leaders, teachers and support staff would like to extend our sincere thanks to all parents for your support of our staff CPD day on Monday 1st June. This provided an invaluable opportunity for colleagues to engage in focused work on curriculum development and to further embed the implementation of Toddle across the school. Your continued partnership enables us to strengthen the quality of teaching and learning for all our students, and we look forward to sharing further Toddle-related developments in the next academic year.

Celebrating Storytelling Success 🎤✨

We are delighted to celebrate incredible success at the Hong Kong Student Story Slam 2026, held at the Fringe Club in Central, and hosted by Hong Kong Stories. The event showcased outstanding storytelling talent from across the city, with only 10 finalists selected from 96 entries.

We are especially proud to share that NAIS Hong Kong was the only school in the competition with two finalists!

A huge congratulations to:

Both students performed with confidence, creativity, and pride, truly reflecting the exceptional talent within our school community. Their achievement is a wonderful celebration of student voice and expression.

Join us in congratulating Mia and Sophie!

International Day Reminder of Information

There is a real buzz around the campus this week as look forward to celebrating International Day on Friday 12th June! We would like to remind students to come to school dressed in national dress or in the colours of their country’s flag on this day.

A range of activities have been planned throughout the week to mark this important occasion, including live music from around the world, language lunch clubs, a mini football World Cup, an international menu available in the canteen, and much more! The week will culminate in an exciting parent-led event in the Auditorium, where students will have the opportunity to ‘travel the world’ and experience a rich variety of cultures and cuisines.

We extend our sincere thanks to our PTA and parent volunteers for their continued support in making this celebration possible.

House Friday Challenge – AI Trivia Showdown! - Charline Procter

Last Friday, students dived into the fascinating History of AI with an interactive Kahoot quiz that had everyone buzzing with excitement. From legendary pioneers to groundbreaking milestones, participants tested their knowledge in a fast paced, engaging format that kept the competition fierce and fun.

With sharp focus and quick thinking, Cruz rose to the top, claiming victory with the highest score. His achievement was celebrated with a special 3D printed trophy, a symbol of innovation befitting the theme of the challenge.

Sports Updates – Alex Wiltshire

U14 Netball

Last week, our U14s put in a hard-fought performance in the semi-final against GSIS. The match was fiercely competitive from start to finish, with both teams battling for every ball. It finished at full time 13–13, sending us into 5 minutes of extra time. GSIS showed real composure during the extra period, playing a calm, “slow and steady” style that helped them just edge ahead 17–14, meaning they progressed to the finals.

Even though we narrowly missed out this time, the team displayed great grit, determination, and teamwork throughout—well done to everyone involved. We now turn our focus to the next match: we play Discovery College on Monday 8th June for the Bronze medal.
