This competitive scholarship program rewards outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement. The program awards scholarships in specific academic disciplines, such as Science, Technology, Engineering, Business, and Law, as well as broader academic pathways such as the IB Diploma Programme and AP Scholars. Students applying to North Broward Prep for Grade 9 and current North Broward Prep rising Grade 9 students are eligible for consideration.
Initial consideration is based on grades, SSAT scores, recommendations, and other supporting information. Students selected for further consideration will be notified of the academic pathways available, the award criteria for each pathway, and the next steps in the selection process.

We recommend students to participate in the Character Skills Snapshot on the SSAT. Certainly, the reason you're seeking to enroll your child here is because you're interested in an education that focuses on instilling character values and encouraging personal growth. Similarly, we know that your child is much more than grades and test scores. That's why we're asking your child to take The Character Skills Snapshot as a part of their Academic Honors Scholarship application. It will give us richer, holistic information about your child, and show us areas where our community can help them grow, thrive, and shine.
Selection
Upon review of the admission application, candidates selected for further scholarship consideration will receive information about the academic pathways available, pathway-specific award criteria, and the selection process. This notification will outline any additional requirements and relevant deadlines.
A selection committee identifies finalists who are recommended to receive the Academic Honors Scholarship based on the student’s overall academic achievement and the award criteria for the relevant academic pathway.
New, prospective scholarship recipients will be notified according to the notification schedule for their consideration cohort: December 1 or January 15.
