As previously mentioned on Wednesday 9th November we will be holding our second ‘Blood Donation Clinic’ here at St Andrews and we would like to dedicate this clinic to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej as a type of celebration of all the merit he gave to his people and his Kingdom. We will call it ‘The Blood for Our Father’.
It is a tradition for some Thai people to donate blood around the time of the King’s birthday (Father’s Day). It gives people the chance to make merit for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the auspicious occasion of his birthday. In addition, the event is aimed at demonstrating the people’s devotion, love, respect, attitude and loyalty to His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen.
We would like to invite all Thai and non-Thai parents and relatives to participate in this event of making merit between 9.30a.m. - 1p.m. on Wednesday next week in the Drama Studio as we feel that giving blood and saving lives is one of the most selfless acts you can do. The Blood Donation Clinic will also be open to any IB students who are over the age of 17 as long as we receive signed permission from their parents.
We will look forward to seeing you on Wednesday next week and thank you so much for your support.
