Art: Year 12 Artists Work in Progress

St Andrews International School Bangkok IB Visual Arts students in Year 12 have spent the last few weeks preparing to make paintings on the theme of “Identity”.

They have been working hard creating images that could largely be described as self-portraits, although even at the early stages the work seems to be much more than paintings of themselves. They have included symbolism, references to personal interests and emotions. Within the IB programme students learn how visual elements, such as colour, texture and contrast, influence the way that the emotional content or meaning of an artwork is perceived. Here is a small selection of our artists at work. More photographs can be viewed on the St Andrews Art Department Facebook page.
