Art: This week’s visitors in art

This week the Art Department of St Andrews International School Bangkok
welcomed two esteemed guests, Crystal Lui of University of the Arts London (UAL) and watercolour artist Navin Tantanadeacha.

This week in the Art Department we were visited by representatives from the prestigious University of the Arts London (UAL), who presented to IB Visual Arts students. As part of the ongoing programme of career guidance and university application advice, student recruitment officer Crystal Lui gave a talk demonstrating the diverse range of courses available at UAL. This was both inspiring and helpful to our students, with London being one of the top destinations for students wishing to follow a career path in the Arts. Year 13 Visual Arts students were also given the benefit of a portfolio review, highlighting areas of importance for creative development.

On Thursday watercolour artist Navin Tantanadeacha visited the Art department to teach students from the Watercolour ECA how to paint flowers. An accomplished painter and graduate of Chulalongkorn University, Navin demonstrated his various watercolour techniques, helping our young artists to create beautiful paintings of their own. We would like to thank him sincerely for bringing his expertise to St Andrews. The images of Navin’s workshop were taken by Pin as an assignment in Mr Tim’s photography ECA.
