Primary FOBISIA Games 2017
The achievements of last year's Primary FOBISIA Games were always going to be hard to beat.
But we have! With three 1st place trophies in teeball and 1st place in every football category, we have surpassed last year and achieved our best ever results at the Primary Games.
Out of the 10 trophies available we achieved 1st place in 9. Along with the success in the teeball and football we also were 1st place in athletics and swimming.
The children have been resilient when things got tough. They have shown great determination and never gave in when we were behind. They have shown a togetherness from the start of this trip that has contributed to their success.
They have been the best Primary FOBISIA team in STA history.
Thank you to all the staff for their hard work over the last year and also thank you to the STA parents for their brilliant support.
What an amazing experience!
Developments for 2017
After presenting at the BISAC AGM, St Andrews International School has received an invitation to participate in a large number of BISAC events in 2017-18 with a view to potentially joining in August 2018.
Together with our move in FOBISIA to compete with the biggest schools in Asia, this represents another major step forwards and we’re very excited by the challenges we face next year.
We will host 3 events for BISAC and we’ve already confirmed participation in additional events such as Track and Field, Duathlon, Cross Country and Volleyball hosted by BISAC schools.
We hope that the growth in our programme will engage even more STA students - currently we have well over 500 places available each week in our squads across all the sports, with 350 different students in training - and provide a more varied list of activities in which to engage.
STA Community Sports Day
Thank you to those who have already signed-up for our Community Sports Day on 10th June. It will be a great deal of fun!
We still have some places available for Volleyball and Water Polo. These will be run as fun events with scratch teams (made on the day). There is no pressure to be an experienced player - I think that all of those signed up so far haven’t played since their High School days!
Please email Miss Aanchal if you’re interested or would like to know more.
