It has been another amazing week of sport at St Andrews International School Bangkok. There were over 70 children who attended our very first STA Gymnastic Squad trial on Thursday. It is an exciting time with so many opportunities available for our Primary children.
Another trial we had this week was for the Nord Anglia Games (NAE) which is being hosted by STA in December. 24 children have been selected and will compete in teeball and basketball over 2 days of sport.
More important dates for Primary Sport are:
30th September - Tiger Prawns Swim Meet
30th September - Shrewsbury Cup BISAC for U9/U11 Girls and Boys Football
1st October - X Country for U11 Girls and Boys BISAC Event
2nd October - Shrewsbury Football Friendly - Boys U11 A, B, C teams. Girls U11 A Team
5th October - Shrewsbury Football Friendly - U9 Boys A, B, C teams. Girls U9 Team.

Training begins officially this week, with our first games already in the calendar and coming up soon. We start with the TISAC Basketball season, but have some cross-country events lined up in the next month and football is not far off.
BASE @ High School
We’ll have a Crossfit trainer from BASE at High School for our students this term in our new, purpose-built centre. We’ll also have Wednesday sessions for parents at 8.00-9.00am. Sessions are 350THB per session (10 sessions) or 500THB drop-in.
Miss Jo will be running parent sessions Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Friday mornings, 8.00-9.00am in our new Yoga Studio. Sessions are 350THB per session (10 sessions) or 450 THB drop-in.
Sign ups for both activities are on Moodle.
We hope these amazing addition to our programme will be well-supported. If you’d like to hear more, please contact Mr. Ollie
Saturday Basketball Club & the Flames Basketball Academy
Our open clubs are already filled but we are expanding the High School session with an additional coach to take everyone on the waiting list.
We hope all of our U11, U13 and U15 ballers sign up before our first sesion this Saturday, 9th September. It's important everyone has this extra weekend session to ensure they all make progress at the same rate. With over 120 places on offer at the weekends, there is high demand for squad places and it’s a real pleasure to see so many STA students enjoying the game.
As we begin to form our many squads, we’re already planning some major experiences for STA Flames members. We have the U15 FOBISIA Games in November at the Thanyapura Sports Resort in Phuket, and we’re hosting the NAE Southeast Asia Primary Games in December.
We’ll be sending football teams as usual to the Phuket 7s in November, and entering FOBISIA Tennis also. We will also host our annual STA Swim Champs this term.
Please save the date for one of our annual swimming competitions that’s also our first big meet of the year, The STA Swimming Championship 2017, scheduled on Saturday 4th November 2017 at the new High School swimming pool. It will definitely be an event not be missed.
There are many games and meets in between and they can be found on the STA Sports Calendar on Google alongside our school one. If you have problems accessing this, please contact Miss Aanchal.
