Sports: Term 2 kicks off to a sporty start

Exciting news about our first U15 3on3 invitational basketball tournament as well as updates on all Primary and High School sport and training sessions.

Primary School Sport

Multi-Sport Camp

Our first ever camp went very well during the Christmas holiday, with over 30 students from KS1 and 2 participating. They did a variety of activities including basketball, dodgeball, benchball, football and more. It was great to see so many active, happy students and to make some new friends from other schools who joined our community for the camp.

We plan to hold this camp during all the major holidays. We trialled a new our sign up system which made registration and payment quite simple and we hope to see lots more join the fun at Songkran.

The open badminton lessons will now change to squad badminton. The trials for U9 and U11 will be held after the break.

U9 Squad will be held on Tuesday lunch times from 12.40 - 1.10pm

U11 Squad will be held on Thursday lunch times from 12.40 - 1.10pm

Open badminton sessions will be held for anyone who did not make the squads and will take place on Tuesdays. You will be able to sign up for these sessions via Moodle, once the results of the trials have been published.

Flames U15 3on3 Invitational Basketball Tournament

On Saturday 10 February, we will be hosting our first invitational 3on3 tournament. Thirty two teams have entered from some of the best International Schools and Academies in Thailand, which will make for a very exciting occasion. With the new bleachers in the Sports Hall and our ability to live stream games to Facebook, we’re looking forward to a great day.

Sports Days

We’re planning our annual House Sports Days for this term. To accommodate the large numbers in school, we’ll again have split days for Y7 & 8 and Y9 & 10. The day will include some formal athletics as well as some games tournaments for House teams, and we hope to allow students to self-select their activity so that they feel able to participate in something that they might enjoy. More details will be given to students in due course.

Training resumes this week and continues until we leave for Phuket. If your child is part of the team, please try to ensure that they are present for all Friday training sessions. Thank you.
