High School Sport: Flames on tour

Our U15 and U13 athletes traveled to Phuket to proudly represent STA at the FOBISIA Games and Soccer Sevens over the last week.

Our students represented STA superbly well in Phuket at the annual FOBISIA Games. This 5 day, 3 sport event is always a highlight of our year as we compete against other British schools from across Asia.

Our athletes were great company as ever and worked hard for their teams. They showed amazing team spirit and grace and we’re very proud of them for this. To see the girls Basketball team receive a standing ovation from the other teams is testament to the way they perform and conduct themselves on court.

Final results

  • Athletics: 2nd
  • Boys Football: 2nd
  • Girls Football: 2nd
  • Boys Basketball: Champions
  • Girls Basketball: Champions

If you haven’t seen them already, there are lots of photos on our STA Flames & Marlins Facebook group page.

Phuket Soccer 7s

Our U13s were in Phuket last weekend for the annual Soccer 7s, a major international tournament. The competition is highly competitive and so we very pleased to see our teams do so well.: the U13B reached the quarter finals and the U13G came 4th.

This is great preparation for their BISAC season that is starting this week.

Thank you so much to the many parents who travelled to Phuket for both of these tournaments and who supported the coaches and players. We always appreciate this! Please see our STA Flames & Marlins Facebook group page for more photos.

Please sign up on Moodle for ECA tennis. We have lots of options across several days, so we hope to involve as many students as possible in this great sport!

STA Biathlon

On Saturday 8 December, we’re hosting our first ever Biathlon event and we’re excited that 200 students and parents have signed up!

There will be several races on the day through and round the High School campus and pool. Please think about getting involved - it’ll be a fun way to encourage your child to be fit and active.

Volleyball Christmas Special

Please come and watch the fun of our parent-student volleyball tournament, involving our U15G, Varsity Girls and Spicey Spikers teams. We’ll have xmas music, silly hats and some party food!

We love seeing our girls involved in sport and the mums’ team shows how easy it is to stay involved as adults. Such a good example for our STA girls!

Healthy Holidays

We’re planning for two camps over the holidays before Christmas: our Multi-Sport Camp and our Basketball camp. More details will follow by email soon.

Keep in touch

Please stay up-to-date by joining our STA Flames & Marlins Facebook closed group for parents and students who are part of our Sports Programme.

As it’s a closed group not open to the general public, please complete the questions so that we know if you’re part of our STA community.

Parents may post to this group and it’s been great to see some of your photos of our kids in action!
