Primary School Sport: Results reward continued hard work

Another action-packed week and weekend of sport at St Andrews International School Bangkok. Our children continue to amaze with their hard work and determination with more and more children getting involved in all the different opportunities on offer.

Rewards in PE

We have started some new PE rewards schemes this year both in our swimming lessons and also our PE lessons. Please ask your child if they have received a certificate and what they got it for. I hope this will motivate our children even more to want to play sport both in school and outside of school.

Parent Reminder

One of things that our coaches/teachers love from our STA parents is your constant support throughout the year of sport. There are many new children in our STA sports teams this year and we hope you have enjoyed seeing your children represent STA. With a busy period of sport coming up can I please remind parents that the only voice our children should be hearing is from the coach. Please encourage and enjoy the games but do not coach. Also, we are so happy at how respectful our parents are to the referees and officials. Please refrain from shouting at them no matter how frustrated you are at the decision made. We look forward to seeing you all over the busy period ahead.

Parent Meetings

BISP Phuket Football 7s - Wednesday 7 November at 3.30 p.m. in the  PE Classroom

NAE Games - Thursday 8 November at 3.30 p.m. in the PE Classroom

Our teams have been in action again this week. Firstly, our boys continued their unbeaten run in the TISAC league with a convincing win. Several made their U11 basketball debut and played brilliantly. Well done.

Then on Saturday we had the BISAC Basketball Tournament in which both our boys’ and girls’ basketball teams competed. Our teams were awesome and only lost 1 game each. Eventually, our boys won their 3rd place final and our girls were unlucky in their 3rd place final losing by just 1 point.

Next week our boys have their final TISAC game in which they have to win to win the league. Then in the final week of November we go to NAE Games in Cambodia to compete against 7 other Nord Anglia Schools. Very exciting times ahead for our basketballers.

At the weekend one of our amazing young Primary golfers won her girls’ competition at the Eagle Cup held at Green Valley Country Club. She shot an incredible score and she continues to play at a  frightening level of golf. Well done to Leely.

Well done to our Primary children who were part of the U13 Tennis teams who finished 1st and 5th in their respective Plate and Cup BISAC competitions at the weekend. This is a brilliant achievement and shows our tennis programme is having a really positive impact of our children’s performance.
