High School: Welcome Back

A welcome to a very busy second half of Term 2, invitations to complete the Parent Satisfaction Survey and offer placements for Year 10’s Week of Work.

Welcome back! I hope that you all had a relaxing and enjoyable week, and are ready for a very busy second half of term, as we head towards Songkran.

As usual, I have included the Calendar for the next two weeks below, as well as a link to a pdf of the updated High School Calendar for the next six weeks - while the Google Calendar on the School’s website is very useful, I know that many of you like to use this hard-copy too.

Now that we are well and truly in the second half of the school year, we are starting to think more and more about next year and, as always, about how we can be even better next year. Part of this thinking and planning is our annual Parent Satisfaction Survey, and it would be very useful if as many parents as possible could complete this during the next two weeks. The survey is available by clicking on this link.

We will also be sending all the High School students a separate Student Survey, with the results from this being part of our Educational Development Trust (ex-CfBT) Re-Accreditation Inspection, taking place next term.

Finally, please see Mr Paul’s Head’s Lines section of this Newsletter for details of Year 10’s Week of Work, taking place during Term 3. Please e-mail Mr Bevin (bevin.cl@standrews.ac.th">bevin.cl@standrews.ac.th) or Khun Pom in the High School Office (pom.sa@standrews.ac.th">pom.sa@standrews.ac.th) if you would be able to offer a placement for any Year 10 students, and also pass on this information to others that you know, who could offer valuable experiences to our Year 10 students, who are not part of the St Andrews Community.

Next week’s Newsletter will, depending on technology, come from Tanzania, where I will be, with 34 Year 10 and 12 students and Ms Lisa, Ms Martine and Mr Will M, for the next eight days. This is our fifth Expedition to Tanzania and I am really looking forward to seeing first-hand, and hands-on, the contribution that our students make to the local communities, as well as the links they make with students from other NAE schools around the world. Keep an eye on the School’s Facebook page for updates throughout the week.

Head of High School
