Primary School Library: Saluting student authors and a goodbye from Ms Astrid

Learn how to access some fantastic student work on Destiny … and stop by the library to say goodbye to Ms Astrid.

STA Authors

It seems like everyone has been in full writing mode this week! Ms Helen has been guiding some very eager and aspiring Year 2 authors to write some wonderful stories. These stories have been uploaded in Destiny (our library system) as ebooks and can be directly read on any device! The easiest way to access them is via Moodle > library > primary school > catalog > resource lists > year 2> and click on the title to download the PDF as per below print screen:

Alternatively you can search for the book’s title and/or child’s name in the search bar.

Ms Helen also encouraged Pim in 4D to finish her long awaited book “The Secret Teacher”! We are very proud of her determination to complete her book and, just as with the Year 2s, her book can also be found and read on Destiny. Please join Pim Tuesday at breaktime as she reads her book in the library!

If this isn’t enough, Mr Colin’s class (1C) have made some amazing and wonderful books with great pop-ups! Needless to say, Ms Astrid was very impressed! We hope you managed to have a quick look at them while they were on display in the library last week.

Please return ALL you library books

Normally we allow books to be borrowed over the summer break but the Primary Library really need to do a long-overdue stocktake of all the books in the library. If you hadn’t returned your library books last week, can you please make sure they are all returned as soon as possible? Thank you for your support.

Goodbye from Ms Astrid

This is Ms Astrid’s final week at St Andrews! She had 6 wonderful years here and would like to thank all the children and parents for their continuous enthusiasm and frequent visits to the library. She has seen many children becoming eager readers and she will miss each and every one of them!

Wishing everyone an amazing summer!
